Tender Description
The Governance Committee seeks expressions of interest from RACP members with relevant skills and experience to complement those of the Committee.
The Committee reports to the Board and is responsible for providing advice on matters relating to College governance. The Committee has By-laws to guide its operations.
Essential attributes of members:
- knowledge of the principles and practices of good governance, requirements of regulatory bodies, legislation, standards and compliance
- experience in the application and monitoring of corporate governance policies and practices
- commitment to the College values, mission and objectives
- bring an independent mind to bear on all Committee business and decisions
- experience in policy and procedure development
- highly developed knowledge and understanding of governance functions, ethical standards
- understand and comply with the duties and responsibilities of a committee member
The Committee comprises a community member, who is Chair of the meeting, the College President, and 4 College members. The Chief Executive Officer of the College will attend all Committee meetings by invitation. The Committee is supported by the Company Secretary.
The Committee holds 1 face-to-face meeting and up to 5 video conferences a year. Meetings run for 2 hours, with the exception of the planning meeting, which is approximately 6 hours.
