Scope of Works
Brisbane Move is seeking EOIs from suitably qualified companies for the construction of the King George Square Station Portal Breakthrough and Station Modifications as part of the Brisbane Metro Project. The proposed works are for the construction of a portal entry to allow the new Adelaide Street tunnel to connect to the existing KGS bus station and network. Additionally structural modification to the KGS station will be required to allow adequate turning paths for the new metro vehicles.
The scope occurs over three levels of the station:
- - Adelaide Street (surface)
- - KGS Concourse (mid-level)
- - KGS Busway (bottom level)
Adelaide Street
The works required on Adelaide Street will be comprised of the construction of the capping beam inclusive of excavation, confined excavation and shotcreting of pile walls as well as construction of a propping slab.
KGS Concourse
The works required on the concourse are the construction of a stand-up beam for the portal as well as demolition of two existing columns and construction of three new column.
KGS Busway
The works required on the busway level are for the localised demolition of the existing external structural wall, construction of new portal structure for tunnel entrance and the demolition of two existing columns and construction of two new columns inclusive of footings and beams. There is also requirement for reinstatement of busway pavement in localised areas.
The awarded Subcontractor will be responsible for the whole of the infrastructure scope of works therefore partial scopes submissions may not be considered.
The scope of works comprises, but is not limited, to the following:
Inclusions
o Subcontractor is responsible for the provision and management of environmental, quality, testing, materials, labour, supervision, and safety controls required to complete the work
o Works to be carried out in accordance with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) specification and Brisbane City Council (BCC) where applicable.
o Subcontractor must ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and conduct work in compliance with QLD and project specifications
o Subcontractor is responsible for the provision and running of site facilities and laydown area
o Provision of shop drawings
o Utility locating and protection of existing services
o All temporary works engineering and certification for the methods of installation – including providing applied loads on the structure
o Provision of method statements and documentation to meet the requirements and satisfaction of the stakeholders, including TMR and BCC.
o Provision for localised demolition of existing structural elements of the KGS structure.
o Make provisions for temporary works and methods for the installation of concrete and steel elements to the existing structure as required
o Methods of construction and access requirements
o Allowance for out of hour work
o Reinstatement of disturbed areas including but not limited to road reserve, footpaths, and pavements
o Testing and commissioning
