Alkimos Central Native Vegetation Transplant Initiative

⁠⁠⁠DevelopmentWA is seeking to engage an operator that can assist in salvaging, storing and relocating existing vegetation from within the Alkimos Central project area. Initially, DevelopmentWA is seeking to salvage grass trees and macrozamias for revegetation opportunities as part of the Romeo Road extension and for Stage 1 public open space and landscaping works at Alkimos Central. There may also be other vegetation that is suitable for relocation and DevelopmentWA is willing to discuss further opportunities for relocating existing vegetation on site with the successful Respondent. There may also be other opportunities to provide services that repurposes vegetation onsite, that may be of benefit to the project (e.g. log harvesting, timber milling, mulching etc.).

DevelopmentWA is looking to engage an operator to work with DevelopmentWA, and appointed landscaping contractors, to provide the grass trees required in re-vegetated areas. DevelopmentWA is looking to engage an operator for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of extension. This three-year period is expected to cover the transplant works of the Romeo Road extension, and that of Stage 1. An extension of this three year contract is possible, with extension periods likely to be tied to future stages of the Alkimos Central project.
