Senior SOE Engineer

⁠⁠⁠About the team:

The ICT Operations Branch provides ICT support and underpinning infrastructure services to the department and the Ministers’ Offices, ensuring all staff in the department and MOs have access to stable and secure technology.

The Infrastructure Services section falls within the ICT Operations Branch. The team is responsible for the department’s server infrastructure and a number of end user services; databases, email, file & print, remote access and security patching. The section provides third level support for all windows on Intel products.

About the role:

The candidate/s will be responsible for working on desktop modernisation projects and business as usual processes (BAU) within the Infrastructure Services team. Specifically, the role will contribute to the department’s transition to M365 Apps for Enterprise (Microsoft office suite) while providing assistance and in-depth technical guidance to our Windows 10 environment.

Essential skill sets:

• Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (M365 Pro Plus) including servicing and update channels
• Microsoft 365 Licensing
• Windows 10 including servicing and update channels
• Windows Server fundamentals (AD, DNS, DFS etc)
• Group Policy configuration including Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM)
• MECM (SCCM) skills including SOE creation/maintenance, application packaging and patching
• Technical Design Writing
• Australian Government IT Cyber Security processes including ISM, Essential 8 and ACSC hardening guides

Desirable criteria:

• Mobile Device Management (MDM) / Mobile Access Management (MAM)
• Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
