Tender Description
Council has received $4.75m from the NSW Government under the NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program for the embellishment of Figtree Park including a playground, improved seating, new public amenities and public art.
Figtree Park is Crown Land and as such requires a Plan of Management (POM). Council has prepared a Draft POM which has been endorsed by the Council and has been referred to the Minister for final approval.
Concept plans for embellishment of the park have been developed in consultation with stakeholders. The proposed landscape design intends to;
1-Enhance the site's look and feel with focused landscape additions that retains the existing Croquet lawn
2-Increase public presence to enhance the public nature of the site, with more accessible amenity
3-Provide a simple and updated design, making it a desirable location
4-Provide an easy to maintain planting scheme that aligns with the Hunters Hill context, native ecology and supports the fauna found on site
5-Offer visual wayfinding through planting and continuing elements at key spaces to provide legible landscape
6-Providing opportunities for inclusive play
7-Improved wayfinding and signage, and increased lighting for comfort and safety
8-Flexibility in spaces to support low-key community activities
Council is now seeking Expressions of Interest (EoI) from suitably experienced companies to undertake these works. Successful EoI's will be shortlisted to receive the Tender package for the works.
