Background
Auckland Council Biosecurity has engaged contract services to carry out annual land-based weed surveillance on Aotea since 2011. Work has involved systematically working though areas on the island deemed high risk/high likelihood of harboring pest plant.
Invasive plant species found during the survey are either removed if they are small infestations or in the case of larger weed sites defined under the Regional Pest Management Plan as exclusion, progressive containment or eradication revisited and treated at a later date under a low incidence pest plant control contract.
To date, survey work has occurred on private land where permission has been given and on public land- DOC, Road Reserve, marginal strips etc. Effort is concentrated around areas of most likely occurrence.
The Auckland Council Natural Environment Delivery team is seeking to appoint a supplier to deliver Weed Surveillance services on Aotea Great Barrier Island.
The purpose of this notice is to reach out and identify suppliers interested in participating in the tender process for this work.
Interested parties need to be able to demonstrate that they have knowledge and experience to deliver the work though the Request for Proposal tendering process
