Tender Description

The Ministry of Health is seeking to procure a Supplier to deliver a programme of work to develop, implement, and maintain the Environmental Health Indicators, with a contract expected to be in place on /around October 2026, to ensure:

  •  Continuity of nationally consistent indicator development and reporting,
  •  Maintenance of robust and comparable methodologies over time,
  •  Reliable environmental health intelligence to inform public health decision making,
  •  Surveillance is completed in a timely manner with the most recent data available, and
  •  Surveillance is in line with the emerging Environmental Health Strategy.

This is an opportunity to help strengthen New Zealand’s environmental health intelligence at a time when decision-makers need timely, trusted evidence about how environmental exposures affect health and wellbeing.

By delivering and maintaining a nationally consistent set of Environmental Health Indicators, you will enable the Ministry of Health and partners across central and local government, iwi/Māori partners, and the wider health sector to identify trends and inequities, target interventions, and track the impact of policy and regulatory action over time.

We are looking for Respondents with demonstrated environmental health, epidemiological and analytical capability, and experience working with national-scale datasets and longitudinal methods.
