Tender Description
Alexandrina Council of 11 Cadell St, Goolwa, SA, 5214 (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of Server and Storage Area Network Services for Alexandrina Council (the Services). The Council will enter into a Contract for Services with the successful Tenderer.
Alexandrina Councils Information Services division is seeking replacement of ageing hardware at both the main office datacentre (“Primary Site”) and its disaster recovery datacentre (“Secondary Site”). The existing infrastructure is end of life and no longer meets the Council’s ever-increasing resource demands, or high availability in the event of a loss of one or more hosts.
Council will take this opportunity to examine new technologies and architectures in replacing its traditional server & SAN platform, to support its investment in VMware vSphere.
All solutions will be considered where the key outcomes are delivered, and must show that performance, security, and scalable growth are realised and costed over the proposed 4-year lifecycle. Solutions will be considered for either active/passive architecture (e.g., Site Recovery Manager failover) or active/active architecture (e.g., stretched cluster). For instance, a traditional server & SAN, hyper-converged architecture or hosted solution, providing for established on-premises and cloud-hosted critical services and workloads. High availability is required between sites. Additional factors are to reduce the overall complexity and ongoing overhead of managing the solution.
Secondly, Alexandrina Council would like to incorporate long-term low-value storage for CCTV footage, with direct write-to-disk access from cameras and controllers. While maintaining enterprise-level resiliency and high-speed network integration.
Options to purchase upfront or lease will be considered.
This will be an exclusive contract to deliver the services.
The term of the contract will be four (4) years with no extension.
