Provision of Municipal Building Surveying Services

⁠⁠⁠Yarriambiack Shire Council (Council) requires the services of a registered Building Surveyor (unlimited) to administer the responsibilities of the Building Act 1993 and relevant Regulations, which includes being appointed as Council’s Municipal Building Surveyor.

Council requires this service a minimum of 24 hours per week to up to 38 hours per week for 50* weeks a year, subject to the number of applications, inspections and other regulatory tasks. The time required is commensurate with the ability to provide an effective and efficient service to Council. *Council’s Municipal Office closes to the public during the Christmas/New Year Period.

Provision will need to be made for a 7 day per week, 24 hour per day emergency service and where the incumbent is not available, access to an alternative suitably qualified person to respond.

The contract term will be a 3 year term with optional 2 x 1 year extensions.

Pricing will be a based on an Annual Lump Sum fee for 24 hours per week and Schedule of Rates for hours over and above this amount (up to 38 hours per week); If the contractor is requested to attend an emergency call out outside of business hours, fees will be the hourly rate specified in the Schedule for works once the MBS is on site. Council’s Business Hours (span of hours) is 7.00 am to 7.00 pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).

The appointed Municipal Building Surveyor will be required to provide (at a minimum), one day a week onsite attendance at the Municipal Offices, located at 34 Lyle Street, Warracknabeal.

Under current Victorian Government guidelines, Council requires any contractors, their agents and sub-contractors attending worksites to be fully vaccinated with approved COVID-19 Vaccine.
