Staged Refurbishment of Boronia Fire Station (FS85)

⁠⁠⁠As of the 1 July 2020, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) was formed, bringing together both MFB and CFA career firefighters to serve metropolitan Melbourne, outer urban areas and larger regional centres across Victoria.

The existing Boronia Fire Station was built in 1998, prior to the current standard and the existing structure is beyond end of life. A refurbishment of the Station is crucial to suitably accommodate the facilities required in a modern fire station.

FRV is seeking a CSR registered builder to undertake a staged refurbishment of FS85 - Boronia Fire Station while the station remains operational.

The refurbishment of Boronia Fire station will include the following:

• Increasing the Dayroom area.
• Adding new Disabled Toilet next to the volunteer Entrance foyer.
• Replacing the Male toilet with Cleaner room and two Unisex toilets.
• Enlarging the Admin area.
• Utilising the existing Comms Room in the Volunteer area for the Volunteer Brigade Office
• Utilising the existing Officer In Charge (OIC) office for Duty Officer, utilising the existing Volunteer Brigade Admin office for OIC.
• Creating an Entry Foyer for the Volunteer entrance area.
• Creating Turnout Room 1 to accommodate 35 Lockers by combining the existing Disabled Toilet, Cleaner Room, Laundry, Drying room and Female Toilet.
• Creating a new Turnout 2 (Volunteers) to accommodate 27 hooks.
• Providing temporary Toilet facilities external to Building during internal alterations
• Add new Drying room adjacent to the existing BA Maintenance: extending the bedroom wing to accommodate additional WC, Cupboard and Store and ensure that the existing bedroom wing floor is soundproof. Accommodate the Laundry room in the existing BA maintenance. Remove and close out the existing BA maintenance roller shutter door.
• Alterations to Gymnasium area.
• Adding Roof coverage to the existing Deck area.
• Bedrooms and Showers areas upgrade.
