The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) has a requirement for an ICT Program Delivery Manager to manage the delivery of the Departments ICT Remediation Program within the Information Services Division (ISD).
ISD is responsible for the management and delivery of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) functions and activities across Australia and overseas for the department. The division provides a secure, modern ICT environment so that the department can conduct its business 24/7 and focus on achieving departmental outcomes.
The ICT Remediation Program is responsible for transforming the infrastructure supporting the department by upgrading legacy hardware and considering cloud adoption where relevant. The program is made up of several projects that cover server consolidation and upgrades, network, cloud adoption, disaster recovery, and backup. The program is seeking a highly skilled candidate with outstanding program governance expertise to uplift the program artefacts, further supporting the delivery of well-planned and considered technology infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality reports, business cases, project artefacts and documentation for Project Boards, Steering Committees, and Senior Executives, supporting the ICT Remediation Program.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders and partners, including Senior Executives to plan and manage programs/projects with a focus on successful delivery to meet scope, schedule and budget requirements.
• Liaise with projects or programs dependent on the ICT Remediation program to ensure alignment of dependencies.
• Liaise with technical resources on the program to capture key program artefacts, including scope, timeframes, budget, risks and issues.
• Manage technical teams, and partner with multiple vendors, to deliver outcomes under tight timeframes.
• Ensure compliance with the relevant governance arrangements associated with delivery of the department’s ICT projects.
• Commit to being part of the Project Management Competency to execute the organisations ICT Strategy.
The successful candidate will have:
• Extensive experience working in Federal Government agencies, managing large corporate ICT transformation programs, and the ability to adapt to, and work across, agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Outstanding governance experience, and the ability to present technical information in a business ready format.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing high-quality project/program artefacts within tight deadlines.
• Sound analytical skills, including a demonstrated ability to critically assess information and articulate through the use of words and / diagrams.
• Strong organisational and communication skills. with a demonstrated ability to present information while managing competing requirements/workloads.
• The ability to work under pressure with close attention to detail, organisation of priorities, and meeting deadlines.
Mandatory Requirements:
• At least 5 years’ experience in delivering technology and/or infrastructure projects .
• Must hold a current ASGVA Baseline clearance (at minimum).
