Tender Description
The Samson Stables Conservation and Adaptive Re-use project is located within the Samson House site at 61 Ellen St., Fremantle. The fmr. Stables is a 32 sqm heritage structure - with timber frame and weatherboard cladding with mezzanine loft. An addition of approximately 37 sqm is to be constructed on the south east side, adjacent to a limestone outcrop embankment and residential boundary fencing. Excavation of caprock to form a floorpad for the extension and perimeter is part of the work scope.
A new retaining wall forming the rear sides of the extention envelope is part of the work scope. The alterations and addition will provide an NCC class 9 public building - new 30 person community use meeting space with IT/AV equipment, kitchenette, storage, washroom and UA bathroom facilities.
The project is supported by Lotterywest funding. Alterations and conservation works to the fmr. stables building are part of the project scope. Universal access scope includes a UA car bay and signage, new WC's and hearing loop..
Bicycle parking facility is included. A separate works package for a new Main Sewer installation is planned to be completed before the Builder commences and programming of the work package will be co-ordinated.
The new extention will be constructed over the new mains sewer line.
