Tender Description

Biodegradable mulches (BDM) that breakdown into water, carbon dioxide or methane and microbial biomass at the end of their lifetime could provide the next step change in agricultural productivity in Australian grain production. Across Australia, there is documented evidence of benefits to several summer fibre and food crops, fruit and horticulture crops, however cost-effective and logistically suitable BDM are yet to be developed and commercialised for Australian broadacre grain production. This investment seeks to broadly evaluate the role BDM may play in broadacre agriculture and is likely to involve appropriate linking of product manufacturers with use cases, environmental and financial evaluation, and attention to business development opportunities.
