Position Purpose
The NDIA Desktop Services Directorate is a key function of the ICT Services Branch delivering both Desktop Services and ICT Asset Management to the Agency.
The NDIA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICT Assistive Technology Specialist, as a function of the Desktop Services team, responsible for conducting design, development, implementation and support of the Agency’s ICT Assistive Technology services.
It will work closely with other service owners and the broader Agency to develop, configure, maintain, support and optimize all new and existing Assistive Technology solutions.
The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
The role will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”.
The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and may be required to represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the Agency’s interests across a range of forums.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Leading the Agency’s ICT Assistive Technology support services, delivering solutions collaboratively with third party vendors.
• Contributing to the design and implementation of an operating model that reflects new ways of working.
• Investigating complex technical issues assigned to the team and engaging others to assist in addressing problems.
• Providing leadership and support to administrators and analysts within the branch.
• Developing and implementing continuous improvement in the Agency’s desktop services.
• Developing and maintaining high quality records including but not limited to Service Desk interactions, technical designs, operating procedures and reports.
• Researching new products to enhance the Agency’s Assistive Technology services.

• Researching new products to enhance the Agency’s technical capabilities.
