AgriFutures Australia investments are driven by our Strategic R&D Plan that addresses the needs of industries and stakeholders. Our aim is to increase knowledge that fosters sustainable, productive new and existing rural industries and further understanding of nationally significant rural issues through research and developing in government-industry partnership.
Applicants who have not secured funding from an RDC to undertake research or consultant services, may be seeking feedback on how they could improve the chances of success. Unsuccessful applications may result in unrewarded work for all parties, and not getting valuable feedback for applicants can lead to diminishing research capacity. This situation is particularly difficult in small, emerging, and levied industries, as it can lead to a shortage of specialists.
To encourage researchers and consultants to continue to apply for funding through Open Calls and Request for Quotations (RFQ), AgriFutures Australia seeks to address this issue by providing a proposal writing workshop to improve the standard of applications and communicate the process for assessment.
This project aligns with AgriFutures Australia’s Strategic R&D Plan 2017-22, Arena 2 National Challenges and Opportunities priorities “working collaboratively on issues common across rural industries”.
