2 x DevOps Engineer -Brisbane or Sydney

⁠⁠⁠Position Purpose

As the NDIA is growing to meet the needs of the Australian population, the NDIA requires comprehensive IT systems to support the day to day running of the organisation.

The Platforms, Integration & Data team are responsible for scoping, designing, delivering and maintaining high quality IT systems and applications to support the entire agency and our partner organisations to deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme to our participants every day.

As a DevOps Engineer you love technology; you understand the intricacies and relationships between software and infrastructure. You are no stranger in supporting operations when the need arises because of the odd critical incident. You remain calm and collected during these times, working through the issues with the team methodically and reporting back on progress. On the other hand, when you design and build, you do so with care and ensure that all work is tested to guarantee that the hand over to operations is smooth and of a high standard.
Your personal success is not only driven by delivery but enabling and empowering others to work within the Office of the CIO. As such, you build key relationships with other technical teams to ensure that we deliver business value and high quality products.

Duties

• Own the CI/CD process together with build/deployment pipelines as well as creation, maintenance,
• Have an in-depth knowledge on the relationship between software, integration and the infrastructure on which it runs,
• Experience in building cloud-based infrastructure solutions in AWS & Azure,
• Automation scripting using Shell/Python/Lambda,
• Previous project experience migrating on-premise to the Cloud(AWS/Azure),
• Experience with container based technologies and their deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm),
• Experience using Terraform, Vault, Artifactory, Gitlab,
• Provide knowledge and advice within technical forums,
• Strong understanding of backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes,
• Strong understanding of identity-based security models,
• Build relationships with other technical teams supporting the function of DevOps in the agency.
