Central Goldfields Shire Council (CGSC) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to prepare an updated proposal for a sewerage scheme for the town of Talbot and an associated structure plan for facilitating and managing township growth. The work must be accompanied by a business case and funding proposal for the sewerage scheme.
CGSC has received funding under the Victorian Government’s Living Regions Living Suburbs Fund for this project.
The funding agreement focuses on sewerage provision for Talbot, this having been long identified as an inhibitor to the growth of the township.
The purpose of the project is to develop an investment-ready proposal to put to funding bodies and the Essential Services Commission, including a business case that minimises cost risks.
The structure planning will take into account not only sewerage provision, but all service provision needed for township development including water, electricity and telecommunications.
