This Indigenous Land Enterprise Infrastructure Fund (ILEIF) grant opportunity invites Indigenous entities to apply for up to $300,000 (including GST) to fund the design, supply and/or installation of infrastructure to support relevant primary industry and/or land management activities in remote and very remote Australia.
The grant opportunity is funded under the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) Remote Australia Strategies (RAS), to achieve the National Indigenous Australians Agency’s (NIAA) Outcome 1, to support economic development in remote Australia. The grant opportunity is for Indigenous entities looking to use the funding to design and install infrastructure in remote and very remote Australia to assist their primary industry and/or land management activities. The intention is for funded infrastructure to meet the Indigenous entities’ business needs and increase the viability and sustainability of their primary industry and/or land management activities.
Relevant primary industry and/or land management activities include agriculture, horticulture, mining, aquaculture, fishing, forestry and livestock management. Some of the key types of infrastructure that may be funded include off-grid solar power systems, upgrades to water infrastructure (such as bores), fences, stock yards, sheds, water storage (such as tanks and troughs), dam silt traps and irrigation systems. Infrastructure to support a wide range of environmental, natural resource and cultural heritage management activities may also be considered for funding, including dust mitigation, burning, fire management, weed and feral animal control.
The NIAA national office and regional offices can provide further advice and, as required, an Advisory Service may provide technical advice as to design, supply and installation of infrastructure.
