Tender Description
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (the Department) is the managing road authority for approximately 35,000 km of roads and tracks in state forests and 14,000 km in parks and reserves. Within this network the Department is also responsible for approximately 4000 bridges and crossings.
These roads and crossings are required to provide access and egress to national and state parks, state forests and other crown land for numerous land uses including fire- fighting and emergency response, forest management, utilisation and commercial activities, and recreational pursuits.
Under the Road Management Act (2004), the Department has a legal obligation to maintain public roads and bridges to a safe standard.
The Department is seeking responses to this Request for Tender (RFT) T2001 - 0265 for the provision of condition and inventory information about the Departments Strategic Fire Access Network and Public Roads.
