Barwon South West Waste and Resource Recovery Group Regional Council Kerbside Waste, Recycling, Glass and Organics Audits

⁠⁠⁠The City of Greater Geelong, as a partner member of the Barwon South West Waste and Resource Recovery Group (BSWWRRG) is facilitating a tender program on behalf of the BSWWRRG to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to undertake audits of kerbside landfill waste, commingled recycling, food organics / garden organics (FOGO) and glass bins across its nine partner councils – Borough of Queenscliffe, City of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway Shire Council, Corangamite Shire Council, Glenelg Shire Council, Moyne Shire Council, Southern Grampians Shire Council, Surf Coast Shire Council and Warrnambool City Council.

NOTE: The Contractual arrangement will be between the BSWWRRG and the successful respondent.

Purpose and Background

BSWWRRG is seeking a suitable contractor to undertake kerbside waste audits to:

• Establish up to date compositions of kerbside material stream compositions by weight/volume for each individual participating council (total 9 Councils),
• Produce relevant analysis of individual council results for the current kerbside collection services,
• Provide recommendations on how best to improve and implement new services relating to Victoria’s circular economy policy, Recycling Victoria, as well as other important legislation such as the 2019 e-waste ban to landfill and proposed container deposit legislation.
