Sydney Trains is seeking responses from suitably qualified suppliers to provide maintenance services to the Underfloor Wheel Profiling Machine and the associated equipment at our Flemington Maintenance Centre.
Sydney Trains operates one of the geographically largest metropolitan rail systems in the world and is responsible for managing assets valued in excess of $19 billion, including rolling stock, stations and rail & electrical infrastructure.
To support the maintenance of the Sydney Trains and NSW Trains fleet, remachining/profiling of train wheels is crucial to the safe operations of the train services, and the timely milling of the wheelsets could address flange wear and other wheel defects and subsequently maximise the useful life of the train wheels.
Sydney Trains is inviting tenders from suppliers for the provision of preventative maintenance services and corrective maintenance services for the Underfloor Wheel Profiling Machine (UWPM) and associated equipment located at its Flemington Maintenance Centre.
