Professional Practice seeks a group of up to 5 Fellows and trainees to form a Working Group to develop a new online Quality and Safety course.
Spaced Learning is a free online learning program designed to enhance physician’s practice and performance. Developed by RACP Fellows, the content challenges physician thinking and helps physicians improve their professional practice.
The ‘Quality and Safety’ Spaced Learning course will be 6 questions based on 3 short case studies, taking participants approximately 2 to 4 weeks to complete. It'll be developed to support the Quality and Safety domain of the Professional Practice Framework (PDF).
The aim of the course is to:
- provide an engaging and practical course that reaffirms the expected competencies advocated in the Quality and Safety professional standard
- provide education on existing challenges in delivering quality and safe care
- improve knowledge on the priorities of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare and the Health Quality and Safety Commission of New Zealand
- address some common quality and safe healthcare topics such as: health literacy, shared decision making, establishing trust and quality and safety in rural areas
The role of the Group is to assist in the development and drafting of case studies and questions, and provide current references. Key responsibilities include:
- attend regular video conferences
- assist in the development of case studies
- review draft case studies and advise on changes
It's expected the project will span 3 to 6 months with correspondence via video conference and email.
Appointed members will be eligible for CPD credits.
