Tender Description
Auckland Transport is responsible for transport services across the Auckland region of New Zealand. From roads and footpaths, to cycling, parking and public transport. Among our main tasks are the planning, contracting and funding of bus, train and ferry services across Auckland. Auckland Transport is a council-controlled organisation (“CCO”) of Auckland Council (“AC”).
We are currently in the planning stages for a tendering process for a new ferry operating contract that will come into effect in 2023 to operate a selection of Auckland’s passenger ferry services.
Before we enter the tender process, we would like to formally engage with the ferry operating market to explain the opportunity, explain what we are looking for and to seek input from the market to help us design the optimal operating and commercial framework that will underpin this ferry operating contract for Auckland.
A combination of interviews and written feedback will be used to inform selection of the optimal operating and commercial model for Auckland, prior to a formal procurement process initiating in late 2021.
