Tender Description
The objective is to provide some of the infrastructure to the central core and its spiral arms that will enable both the construction of
the SKA Low-Frequency Aperture Array telescope project (SKA-LOW) as well as its operation post completion.
SKA LOW Infra 1 (Spatial) comprises four work elements:
- Power and Fibre Networks - including the supply of all materials, equipment, transportation, labour, supervision, quality assurance, installation, testing and commissioning required to complete the works.
- Fibre Cable Assembly - including the supply of all materials, equipment, transportation, labour, supervision, quality assurance, installation, testing and commissioning required to complete the works.
- Prepared Ground – clearance and minor profiling of the ground for each of the arrays field stations; a 45m diameter area overlaid with rectangular mesh for each field station. There are 512 individual field stations.
- Access Tracks - to provide circulation routes and tracks around the configuration. These tracks will be constructed along the established trench alignment routes. Work will include clearing, ground profiling and minor excavation, filling and compacting.
