ABOUT THE COUNCIL:

The Glen Street Theatre is a much loved theatre strategically located in Frenchs Forest on Sydney s North Shore.

The intimate 400 seat proscenium arch auditorium delivers a rich annual performance program (see Glen Street Theatre What s on) attracting some of Australia s most famous actors and presenters. Glen Street Theatre is a key cultural facility serving the Northern Beaches region. Operating for over 30 years, the Theatre has strong links with community organisations including dance and theatre schools and attracts a diverse audience of all ages and backgrounds.

SERVICE REQUIRED:
Council invites tender submissions from suitably qualified and experienced individuals or organisations (the Tenderer) who are interested in obtaining a lease to fitout and operate a Hospitality Venue with a performing arts component.

Overview of the Hospitality Venue
The Hospitality Venue is located adjacent to the Glen Street Theatre with exclusive external access suitable for restaurant/food & beverage and performing arts. The space includes a large commercially equipped kitchen. The venue space follows on to an outdoor area overlooking the Lionel Watts sporting oval. This area is proposed to be used as an outdoor dining area fitted out by the operator and subject to a licence agreement.

The internal leased and external licensed areas total 503 m2 (approx.)

Purpose of the Hospitality Venue
The hospitality venue is a separate component to the theatre and can be used for a variety of food and beverage and performing arts operations which benefit the community and complement the Glen Street Precinct.

The lease term will be five (5) years with a five (5) year option to extend the lease and licence at the tenant's discretion.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:
Evaluation of responses to this RFT will be undertaken in two stages. The first stage will assess tenders using the information requested in the Schedules at Part 2 of this RFT. Following this evaluation, Council may then invite shortlisted tenderers to proceed to Stage 2 of the evaluation. At this point further detail will be requested from the shortlisted tenderers.

SITE BRIEFING:
A Site briefing will be held on 03 August 2021 Glen Street Theatre on Tuesday, 3 August 2021 at 4pm (AEST). All persons present must wear a face mask and following NSW Health distancing requirements.

Tenderers should ensure they review the quote documents and understand the scope of work before attending the briefing.

CLOSING DATE AND TIME:
Quotations close at 2.00pm, Tuesday, 31 August 2021and must be fully received by this time.

LODGEMENT:
Submissions should be lodged in the electronic tender box or in the physical tender box at Northern Beaches Council, Civic Centre, 725 Pittwater Road, Dee Why, NSW 2099 by the time and date nominated. Late submissions may not be accepted.

Documents must be obtained after registration on the e-tendering portal which is free.
