Tender Description
A replacement is sought for BHS’ aged (10th year of operation) CT Scanner. This heavily utilised ‘last-generation’ unit provides a dedicated service to the Emergency Department (Trauma/Pathology/Stroke) as well as BHS’ Intensive Care Unit and wards. Amongst many issues, the reliability of this ‘mission-critical’ system has become increasingly problematic given the pivotal role it plays in acute patient management.
The sought replacement system, apart from providing improved reliability and certainty of service delivery, would also address other areas of existing critical weakness, with newer systems offering:
- Reduced radiation dosage (Paediatric patients in particular)
- Improved Bariatric patient coverage (300+ kg compared to 227kg)
- Improve image quality, resolution and speed in the elderly, young, obese, unconscious and uncooperative patient cohort.
