OHS Support Services

⁠⁠⁠DET is seeking responses for the provision of OHS support services to workplaces for a four-year period, with an option to extend the contract for two additional one-year periods. And the provision of OHS support services will include, but not be limited to:

1. provision of a DET online OHS Support and Advisory Service (teleconference, telephone, email and other technological platforms) to respond to requests for OHS advice from the DET.
2. providing support to schools to review their implementation of the requirements of the OHSMS, including as part of preparation for OHS audits and to implement corrective actions identified by OHS auditors.
3. supporting and facilitating continuous OHS improvement in DET workplaces through the provision of OHS generalist and specialist advice to support policy development and implementation taking into consideration current and emerging risks and the overall aim to reduce administration and compliance burden for DET workplaces
4. delivery of targeted OHS support programs and visits in DET workplaces as part of the implementation of new programs and targeted initiatives including as part of the Safe and Well in Education Strategy and Framework to improve OHS across the DET system, reduce administrative burden on schools and / or determine the effectiveness of particular controls / systems of work
5. delivery of OHS support visits on site as directed by DET to build capability and address individual issues or cases including undertaking risk assessments and incident investigation services to respond to OHS incidents involving DET staff, visitors, students or contractors
6. inform the design, development and delivery of presentations and training for a range of forums and audiences, including a specific program to build capability, knowledge and confidence in the management of OHS and wellbeing practices in a school setting
7. capability to support DET to implement initiatives and measures to promote mentally healthy work environments and reduce mental injury risks
8. provision of advice and support to prevent and respond to work related violence, including expertise in work-related violence risk mitigation and recovery
9. provision of administrative safety support additional OHS support offerings from time to time at the reasonable request of DET. This may include services that directly contribute to the reduction of administrative burden, strengthen compliance requirements, build an improved safety culture in DET workplaces and create efficiencies in the system.
