Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠ The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Medical Oncology is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Medical Oncology Trainees.

 
The ATC has 1 vacancy for an Advanced Trainee representative.
 
The role of the Advanced Trainee representative is to:
 
  • participate in ATC activities, except project marking, site visits, approval and certification of training
  • inform the ATC of trainees’ perspective on issues
  • to provide a trainee’s perspective on issues before the ATC
The ATC holds 1 face-to-face meeting in Sydney and 4 videoconferences per year. Members are appointed for an initial term of 2 years with the option to renew for a further 2 terms.
 
Responsibilities of the ATC
 
The role of the ATC is to:
 
  • Monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Medical Oncology.
  • Confirm completion of training requirements to progress to Fellowship.
  • Monitor training of, and provide support to, supervisors in Medical Oncology.
  • Accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Medical Oncology.
  • Assess recognition of prior learning.
  • Monitor and review training program requirements, assessment and curricula in Medical Oncology, in consultation with the relevant Specialty Society and other stakeholders.
  • Recommend changes to the College Education Committee, via the Adult Medicine Division Education Committee and Paediatrics and Child Health Division Education Committee.
  • Advise on assessment and resource content.
  • Advise on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians, as requested.
  • Provide advice on specialty-specific Continuing Professional Development and other educational resources for members, as appropriate.
  • Modify training requirements for individual trainees, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures.
  • Assess and provide advice on specialist recognition in Medical Oncology for Fellows in the Paediatric and Child Health Division or Adult Medicine Division who have not completed the Medical Oncology Advanced Training program.
