Animal Care Facility Management

Council is seeking a suitable organisation to operate and manage Councils Animal Impound Facilities for companion animals and livestock, located at Charmhaven and Erina. The organisation will also be required to provide a transport service for companion animals and small livestock (pigs, sheep & goats). This opportunity will help Council fulfil its animal care obligations while helping to find new homes for animals in need.

Currently, Council impounds approximately 2,250 companion animals per year and 5 to 10 small livestock (sheep, goats & pigs). This Tender is to consolidate the existing contracts that relate to the impounding of companion animals and small livestock.

Council currently has two (2) facilities located at Erina Depot & Charmhaven Depot; however, Council is considering its options to transition from two (2) facilities to one (1) facility within the next 3-months; however this period may extend out depending on the timing of the required upgrade works at Charmhaven ACF. Council is also investigating a site for a long-term facility which may be constructed within the Contract period.

Pre-Tender Meeting:
A pre-tender meeting will be held on 21 July 2021 at 1 pm at Council Chambers located at 2 Hely Street, WYONG. The meeting is anticipated to take approx. 2 hours.
The Pre-Tender meeting will be conducted strictly in accordance with NSW Government and NSW Health directions re COVID-19 that apply at the date set for the meeting (if any) and as such may be a virtual meeting.

Council's Nominated Contact Person is to be notified the Friday prior to the meeting to confirm attendance and ensure that people on the site at any one time do not contravene NSW Government directives in relation to gatherings. Confirmation will be provided at this time as to the meeting method. In person at Councils Wyong Chambers or virtual via Microsoft teams.
