Tender Description

The City of Melville ("City"), is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to undertake the supply of new LED floodlighting and associated infrastructure to the Webber Reserve located at 30 Hodge Street Willagee. The new installation is to increase the lighting footprint for the sports ground.

The reserve consists of community place spaces and a large oval for outdoor sports such as cricket and football. Willagee Bears Rugby Club is currently based at the site and uses the oval at night for training purposes.

The construction works consist of the supply and installation of lighting towers and LED floodlights to the oval. Supply and installation of associated electrical services for the new lighting installation connected to the existing electrical supply. The installation is required to supply a minimum of 50 lux capacity and future capability to increase to 100 lux in the future.

An option item to supply and install a new site main switchboard to allow for future upgrade to 100 lux capacity is included as a separable portion.

The electrical services installation will require directional drilling to minimise the impact on the reserve sports surface.
The preferred sequence of works for this project is to complete the new installation, undertake a scheduled cut over from the existing system to the new and then complete the demolition of the 3 x 22 meter lighting towers and existing system.
The existing lights are controlled manually from the clubhouse and the new installation will be automated using the specified Halytech control system.
