South Gippsland Water (SGW) invites tenders for professional services to help produce a 2022 Urban Water Strategy, under Contract number: 21 _ 12.
SGW is an urban water business owned by the Victorian State Government and must comply with a 'Statement of Obligations' issued by the Water Minister. The Statement of Obligations requires that the business prepares an Urban Water Strategy (UWS) to plan for future provision of services. The current SGW UWS was produced in 2017 and must be updated before March 2022. An update to Drought Preparedness Plans will be undertaken as well in parallel with the preparation of the UWS.
Production of the Urban Water Strategy is guided and managed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning (DELWP). For the 2022 UWS DELWP have produced comprehensive guidance describing the scope and process they expect to be followed.

DELWP Guidelines for the development of Urban Water Strategies 2020
Assessing the Impact of Climate Change on Water Availability in Victoria 2020
Preparation of the 2022 UWS will be undertaken in 5 work packages as below.
Package 1: REALM / SOURCE Water Modelling and Report
Package 2: Wastewater Strategy
Package 3: Strategy Review and Update
Package 3a: 'Central Towns' Water Supply Strategy
Package 3b: Leongatha Water Supply Strategy
Package 4: UWS Report and Documentation (Provisional item)
Package 5: Drought Preparedness Plan
