Summary
The Paediatrics and Child Health Division (PCHD) Accreditation Subcommittee seeks expressions of interest from PCHD Fellows for 2 positions.
Description
The Subcommittee, reporting to the Paediatrics and Child Health Basic Training Committee, manages the accreditation of PCHD Basic Training settings to ensure high quality environments for trainees.
The Subcommittee has vacancies for 2 Fellows who are interested in contributing to the discussion and decision-making around accreditation of training setting providers for the Paediatrics and Child Health Basic Training program.
This is an exciting time to join the Subcommittee as it has a new Training Provider Accreditation Program.
The following commitment is required of members:
- attending a minimum of 5 Subcommittee meetings a year, with up to three 3 being face-to-face
- attending a minimum of 3 joint meetings with the Adult Internal Medicine Basic Training Accreditation Subcommittee a year, with up to 2 being face-to-face — these will be scheduled on the same day as the PCHD Accreditation Subcommittee
- reading time for papers which are sent about 1 week before each meeting
- flexibility and willingness to support the new accreditation program and accreditation of training settings, through site visits and videoconferences
- contributing to joint discussions and decision-making on accreditation of training settings for Adult Internal Medicine and Paediatrics and Child Health Basic Training Programs
Subcommittee meetings run for approximately 5 hours with the first 2 hours assigned to decisions regarding joint accreditation in collaboration with the Basic Training Adult Internal Medicine Accreditation Subcommittee.

Members are appointed to the Subcommittee for a 2-year term with the option to renew a further 2 terms.
The College offers CPD points and letters of support to assist with attendance at these meetings.
