Tender Description
The Overseas Trained Physician (OTP) Committee seeks expressions of interest from Fellows for the position of Committee Chair.
The Committee oversees the assessment of internationally qualified specialists.
It guides 2 OTP Assessment Subcommittees in Australia and the OTP Assessment Committee in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Committee reports to the College Education Committee and is responsible for developing policy and managing the review of Subcommittee decisions in Australia.
Eligibility criteria:
- in-depth knowledge of the College's OTP policy and guidelines
- current knowledge, understanding and experience of the assessment of OTPs
- in-depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements in Australia and Aotearoa NZ
- significant experience and skills in chairing committees
- experience with education at a tertiary level (beneficial)
The Chair is appointed for a 2-year term, with the option to renew for a further 2 terms.
The Committee holds 4 videoconferences a year and may have up to 2 face-to-face meetings in Sydney.
