Knox City Council is currently looking to engage a suitably qualified contract to improve Council’s knowledge of its stormwater drainage pipes in order to update its asset database and as a means to predicting future maintenance, upgrade and renewal requirements. In particular, the works of this project include confirmation of Council’s drainage asset inventory as well as condition audits of the nominated pipes.
The most recent condition audit undertaken on stormwater drainage pipes occurred in 2008. More recently there has been a program of condition auditing Council’s stormwater pit assets. This audit hopes to complement the work that has been undertaken in the pit audit, by focusing on the pipes which have been identified as high risk from a flood mitigation standpoint.
The scope of the project to be undertaken, for each of the nominated drainage segments, is as follows:
• Cleaning (where required) and CCTV capture;
• Defect based condition audit; and
• Collection of attribute data for inclusion in Council’s asset management systems.
