The Department for Education is undertaking a supplementation process to its Modular Education Facilities (MEF) Panel providing opportunity for suppliers who are currenlty not on the panel to apply to be on the Panel.
The MEF Panel was established in Septermber 2019 following an EOI process. The panel term is 3 years and will expire in September 2022.
The aim of the panel is to identify suppliers that are highly experienced in delivering modular buildings and are capable of providing innovative solutions for education facilities due to increasing needs for additional built capacity at schools and preschools and to respond to major policy announcements, e.g. year 7 to high school, within tight delivery timeframes.
The MEF Panel Comprises of two service delivery options which are:
- Option 1: Full Turnkey Solution
- Option 2: Design, Manufacture and Delivery Solution
Respondents can elect to tender for Option 1 or Option 2 or both.
The modular buildings are intended to provide temporary, semi-permanent and permanent solutions to meet site specific needs while improving learning environments to support students and teachers. Modular building services include the delivery of classrooms, administration, amenity (toilet) and disability support facilities.
Engagement of suppliers under this panel will be via a secondary procurement process to all successful applicants placed either in the Option 1 or Option 2 category as needed.
Suppliers currenlty on the Panel do not need to reapply.
