Tender Description
The Northern Grampians Shire was formed in 1995 by the administrative amalgamation and bringing together of the townships of Stawell, St Arnaud, Great Western, Halls Gap, Navarre, Glenorchy, Stuart Mill and Marnoo. More than 11,500 people call this district home.
The Northern Grampians Shire Council is the relevant rural authority for approximately 3408 kms of local roads as well as the bridges, footpaths and other ancillary assets. Council has developed a Road Management Plan pursuant to the Road Management Act 2004.
The Road Management Plan sets minimum maintenance standards for the road assets based on an established hierarchy. It sets a program for safety and defect inspections and response times for rectifying defects on the road network.

This project consists of strengthening the Wimmera River Bridge crossing the Wimmera River on the Landsborough Road, Joel Joel, and the Strathfillan Bridge crossing the Strathfillan Creek on Dunolly Road, Carapooee. The works involve the installation of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthening of bridge elements as per the design drawings.
