Waterways Masterplan and Marketing Project - Wimmera Mallee Tourism

⁠⁠⁠Yarriambiack Shire Council invites suitably qualified consultants to tender for the Wimmera Mallee Tourism's Waterways Masterplan and Marketing Project.

Yarriambiack Shire Council, on behalf of Wimmera Mallee Tourism (WMT), is the auspice for a series of initiatives aimed at delivering improved services and tourism infrastructure. This Waterways Masterplan and Marketing project will be commissioned and administered by Yarriambiack Shire Council with a Project Control Group comprising Wimmera Mallee Tourism stakeholders.

The Waterways Masterplan and Marketing project will take the Wimmera Mallee's network of lakes, weirs and parks to a new level by providing a staged masterplan for improved facilities and activation strategies, and an integrated marketing plan to provide a real focus on these under-developed assets.

The objectives of the Waterways Masterplan and Marketing project are:
i) Develop comprehensive overarching masterplan visions and concept designs for infrastructure and facilities to maximise visitation and length of stay at and near the region's 19 specified lakes and weir pools and three main nature parks.
ii) Identify public and private investment opportunities associated with possible staged implementation steps of elements of the masterplan
iii) Prepare marketing materials in a form, which can be used, for traditional hard copy brochures and electronic platforms (websites and social media).

The materials will:

• Show artistic impressions of the components of the masterplan
• Promote the facilities and activities at each lake, weir and park
• Identify optional trails involving multiple lakes, weirs and parks in the region
• Link travel routes between the lakes, weirs and parks to enable visitors with special interests (eg fishing, flora and fauna viewing, kayaking, hiking) to have extended stays in the region.
