It is planned that this Tender will be released on 16 October 2020 on the Vic Tenders web site.

GMW is providing forward notice of a Release for Tender for the engagement of a Contractor to safely perform rock excavation to regrade the basalt rock wall on both the LHS and RHS of the primary spillway at Lake Eppalock, using a series of battered and benched slopes while preventing damage to the primary spillway reinforced concrete walls.

The principal item of works include the excavation and stockpiling of basaltic rock and palagonite tuff from behind the primary spillway walls, 7,000 m3 on the left and 9,000 m3 on the right, when looking downstream. Volumes include a 25% bulking allowance.

The extent of the scope of works encompasses all preparation, procurement, supply, mobilisation, access, site works and clean up to meet the full intent and meaning of the specifications.

Works comprise:

  • Excavation;
  • Stockpiling;
  • Vegetation removal;
  • Preparatory works including environmental protection works, access and laydown areas;
  • Permanent security fencing (upon completion of rock excavation works); and
  • Temporary training wall damage protection systems

The rock excavation works shall be undertaken in the window between 22 February 2021 and 4 June 2021 in order to manage operational risks. Preparation and completion (clean up etc) and demobilisation works maybe undertaken outside this window.

The use of the Victorian Public Sector (VPS) Annexure Part B Special Conditions for use in association with Australian Standards General Conditions of Contract AS 2124-1992 document are the terms under which the works will be performed.
