Replace Metal-Halide Lamps with LED Lights & Installation of a Lighting Control System

⁠⁠⁠Tompkins Park Canning Highway Alfred Cove (Site) is the City of Melville's (Principal) premier sporting and recreation facility. The Site includes a multi-purpose sporting and community facility, playing fields, sports field lighting and passive recreation spaces.

The Site is registered with the Department of Environment Regulation as a Contaminated Site. The Site is classified as 'Remediated for restricted use'. The land use of the Site is restricted to recreational open space (See Appendix 5 Department of Environmental Regulation Basic Summary of Records).
Organized sports housed at Site include:
. Rugby Union
. Touch Football
. Cricket
. Soccer

The sports field lighting is provided by 14 lights that deliver a mixture of 50 lux training standard for cricket and soccer, and 100 lux match standard for rugby union on the northernmost sporting pitch. The globes on all 14 sports field lights are currently metal-halide. The operation of the lights is controlled through a manual switching process.

The Principal is seeking to replace the metal-halide lamps with more energy efficient and environmental sustainable LED lighting, and install a lighting control system to automate the operation of all the lights in a manner to suit the needs of the various sporting clubs and the Principal.
