Warrnambool City Council is seeking quotations for design and construction of remedial works for the Wollaston Heritage Bridge.
Following the completion of the structural conservation works for Wollaston Heritage Bridge co-funded from Heritage Victoria and Warrnambool City Council, it was identified that firstly, there was safety issue and secondly, a maintenance issue that needed to be addressed.
To fulfil the expectations and needs of the Principal the performance specification requires the outcomes for the installation of safety and conservation remedial works to be safe, durable and extend the enjoyable use by the community whilst respecting and conserving the heritage and social value of Wollaston Heritage Bridge.
The Services to be performed by the Contractor include design and construction of the following components:
Part A - Fall Protection System:
Design and construction of a barrier infill to prevent climbing or falling through the open area between the timber posts and metal cross bracing.
Part B - Conservation Works: Concrete Pylon
Design, fabrication and installation of the four (4) x Dust Covers for replacement as key pieces of infrastructure to protect the Stone Roller System which controls the steel cables tension upon loading or temperature difference on the bridge.
The risk of damage to the steel cables is a high priority and refer to Part C for additional works to be within the response to quotation.
