Cohuna CBD Waterfront Connections - Urban Design

Gannawarra has secured $1.7 million in funding from the Victorian State Governments RRV Infrastructure Stimulus 2020 grants program.

The Water Front Connections program is being delivered in a number of phases at a total cost of $3.4M. This design brief covers the final stage being that of the CBD and Garden Park water front connections with a total works package of approximately $1.7M for this stage. Work in Apex Park have commenced and will continue during this financial year.

The Cohuna Shopping Precinct has enormous potential to utilise the adjoining Gunbower Creek in its future development. The upgrade will encourage new business development in a streetscape that is fresh and modern reflecting Cohuna’s growth potential. The streetscape will connect to the Park and Creek to encourage greater engagement with the hospitality sector to drive new business activity, and among other things will include board walks, all ability playground and passive and active equipment, and improving the connection to the Gunbower Island.

The Cohuna CBD and Waterfront Connections Project is anticipated to achieve the following outcomes:

• Improved connections to the Cohuna Waterfront along the Gunbower Creek; and
• Increased unique lifestyle experience for residents and visitors.
