Microwave replacement work, Marandoo and Hope Downs

⁠⁠⁠Background

The current primary Wide Area Network (WAN) within the Marandoo and West Angelas mines rely on fibre links between sister WAN links and also rely on low speed microwave link equipment for a backup path which when invoked causes a restriction in data transfer speeds and in some cases a loss of data and reduced mine activity. The proposed replaced microwave network is expected to provide necessary high speed data connects for the backup paths to the fibre connections and will allow the mine systems and mine WAN networks to continue to operate at full capacity during a primary connection failure 

Scope of work

Construct and install microwave equipment from Tom Price to Marandoo and from West Angelas to Hope Downs 1.

High Level Scope includes:

• Verification of high level design to be provided by Rio Tinto
• Completion of detailed design to 100% and ready for construction status.
• Installation of microwave equipment ( to be provided by Rio Tinto)
• Completion of Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing of all microwave equipment and links
• Provide all installation consumables
• Rigging work for installation of new antenna, antenna mounts, feeder cables, cable clamping, cable earthing and lightning protection to the communication huts/office building as associated with the project including structural works at Hill 988 and Marandoo RBS. ( This work may be outsourced or delivered by the supplier on its own).
• Removal of microwave links that have been made redundant by the new replaced microwave links between Mt Nameless and Marandoo RBS1
