Tender Description
In 2018 Council’s Access and Inclusion Survey identified wayfinding as a barrier to accessibility for segments of the community. In response to concerns the maintenance and upgrade of Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSIs) in the Castlemaine Towns Centre has been identified as required. A review of existing TGSIs has been undertaken in association with Guide Dogs Victoria.
The review of existing TGSIs in the Castlemaine Town Centre identified that most of the existing indicators have degraded to a state where they are no longer functional. Intersections with no marking have also been identified in addition to kerb ramps that do not meet Council’s adopted standards. Replacement of TGSIs may require repair of the footpath surface.
