Tender Description
The Tasmanian Government's Place Names Act 2020 provides for a Place Names Advisory Panel to be established to assess Tasmanian place naming proposals.
Expressions of interest are now open for membership of the Place Names Advisory Panel. The Chaur of the Panel is seeking to fill the following positions:
- One person having knowledge and experience in outdoor recreation; and
- Up to two persons having knowledge and experience in heritage or historical matters; and/or orthography and/ or linguistics.
The listed Place Names Advisory Panel positions will be appointed by the Minister and the Panel is convened by the Surveyor General. Appointments are for three years,a nd members may be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Minister. Reimbursement of expenses associated with the conduct of its activities will be available to members.
