Sports Floodlighting Goodchild Park

⁠⁠⁠The City of Cockburn (the Principal) is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced WA Licensed Electrical Contractor to undertake the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of Sports (Lacrosse) Floodlighting at Goodchild Park, Hamilton Hill, Western Australia.

Goodchild Park is located at 30 Plantagenet Crescent, Hamilton Hill, on Lot 9000 with an area of approximately 4.4 hectares. The reserve is currently used in the winter season by the Phoenix Lacrosse Club, and as an overflow ground for cricket in the summer season by the Cockburn Cricket Club.

The City recently commissioned a Sporting Facilities Lighting Audit (Audit) which identified that the floodlighting at Goodchild Park was non-compliant and had exceeded its useful life, with three of the four existing lighting poles requiring urgent removal.

The City appointed an electrical engineer consultant in September 2019 to develop a detailed sports floodlighting design and cost estimate for Goodchild Park, upgrading to 200 lux LED lighting in accordance with the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America’s recommended practice for lacrosse lighting (RP-06-01).

It is the Principal’s expectation that the Contract shall be awarded in April 2020, and work shall commence immediately upon receipt of contract; with an estimated total supply/manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning period of twenty (20) weeks.

The Contractor will be required to provide all labour, plant, tools and equipment, materials, fees and charges, chemicals, transport/cartage etc. and anything else necessary for the completion of the proposed Contract.

Concept design drawings have been prepared and a full statement of the design services and construction works required under the proposed Contract appears in the Specification and Special Conditions of Contract.
