My Maitland and The Levee Maitland Website Redevelopment

⁠⁠⁠Council relaunched Maitland's visitor website as mymaitland.com.au in 2017 as part of a local visiting friends and relatives (VFR) campaign. A dedicated website for The Levee was launched in 2016, with the primary purpose of marketing the businesses in the Levee precinct.
We are now seeking to update these two websites as functionality is limited and outdated, the navigation is confusing and there is a lot of inefficiencies relating to the way information is uploaded.

In terms of the lack of functionality, neither of the websites have been designed mobile first, search capabilities are poor from a consumer point of view, and there is little integration of innovative and rich content across the site which makes it seem dull. The navigation is also confusing and incomplete, with missed opportunity for cross promotion. This is reflected in the way information is displayed both visually and practically and has a negative impact on the way we are marketing Maitland to visitors.

Managing the content on both sites is also inefficient. Council staff currently upload product listings for tourism operators, traders and events several times and in an ad hoc way. For example, details for a cafe operating in The Levee will be added first to thelevee.com.au, then to mymaitland.com.au. The information should also be added to the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW). This is time consuming and creates way more opportunity for error.
