Lead Business Analyst and Designer (one or more positions)

⁠⁠⁠The department is seeking one or more Lead Business Analyst and Designer(s) to work at its Business Analysis (BA) Centre. This position will report to the Director of the BA Centre and project managers as appropriate.

To be successful in the role will require a strong work ethic including taking ownership, providing leadership and a high level of productivity.

The role will be responsible for the BA components of a large project or program of work. Such work may include:
• Planning BA effort across multiple streams of activity;
• Working with business and technical stakeholders to develop necessary artefacts including providing guidance and direction where necessary;
• Coordinating and leading a team of BA’s;
• Identifying and mitigating risk; and
• Program design.

The role will be a key member of the project’s multidisciplinary team with highly proficient in BA foundational skills and be able to lead the project on the development of a contemporary digital experience.
Core skills include the ability to:
• Lead the collaboration and engagement between all project stakeholders, including leading and facilitating workshops;
• Apply and guide the project on the adoption of the Australian government’s Digital Service Standard (DSS), service design and delivery process; and
• Produce relevant architecture and analysis documentation applicable to delivering a digital service and business outcomes (which may include user services and designs, user requirements, KPIs and performance metrics, business processes and rules).

Part of the work includes contributing to BA Centre operations, such as:
• Supporting strategic business engagement and project initiation;
• Pre-project analysis;
• Project change management;
• Contributing to BA capability uplift; and
• Progress the department’s ICT strategy and Enterprise Architecture.
