Tender Description

Chevron Australia is seeking expressions of interest from experienced service providers with necessary capability, capacity and a demonstrated track-record to provide general civil works on Chevron’s Oil and Gas Asset Operations at Barrow Island. This primarily
includes the maintenance of sealed and unsealed roads and supply of concrete to brown field works through the management, maintenance and operation of the Chevron owned batch plant, as well as other miscellaneous civil works support when directed by Chevron. A brief description of each work scope is provided below.

Scope of Work

  • Supply of concrete including batch plant management, operation and maintenanceas follows:
  1.  Maintenance including the provision of spare parts of all screening, concrete production and power generation, equipment, transportation, storage, pumping, testing equipment and associated items in order to facilitate concrete production;
  2. Supply, storage and management of sand, bulk cement and admixtures as required to meet demand;
  3. Delivery of concrete to work sites on Barrow Island, including the supply, operation and maintenance of delivery trucks to ensure uninterrupted concret supply; and
  4. Operation of Company provided NATA suitable testing laboratory and access to mainland NATA registered materials testing laboratory as and when required.
  • Road maintenance and upkeep including:
  1. Road construction prior to sealing;
  2. Road sealing and post sealing activities (i.e road marking, signage, road barriers); and
  3. Road maintenance involving re-grading, rolling, compaction and road repairs as directed.
  • Maintenance of yards and other areas including:
  1. Maintenance of runway safety area (RSA); and
  2. Maintenance of laydown yards.
  • Miscellaneous earth works and civil works including:
  1. Bulk material haulage and handling;
  2. Clear and grub topsoil from any new work areas;
  3. Maintenance or installation of site perimeter fencing, gatehouse, muster stations and supporting services;
  4. Maintain and upgrade firebreaks as required;
  5. Soil Compaction testing in support of work;
  6. Dust control and suppression;
  7. Application of Dustex or similar product;
  8. Storm water management and ongoing maintenance;
  9. Maintain erosion protection through the installation and upkeep of shotcrete or concrete canvas;
  10. Repair of any erosion of scouring; and
  11. Dewatering and clean up after rain events.
  12. Piping leak repairs to underground services.
  • Survey Control, Set-out and Compliance Works
  1. Accurately setting out and constructing the work to the lines and levels given on the Drawings and Data or as directed.
  • Personnel required are to be multi-skilled to operate across multiple areas of the work scope and include specialised skilled labour (e.g. batch plant operator, laboratory technician etc.).
  • Equipment shall be required to be mobilised and remain on Barrow Island unless otherwise agreed.
  • Project work as request by Company
