Test Manager

⁠⁠⁠The Test Manager is responsible for the integrity, completeness and quality of testing activities and deliverables as part of the integrated end- to- end testing strategy and process operated by NDIA with DHS and other IT system providers.

The Test Manager will implement a new Test Strategy for successful delivery of ICT solutions in a rapidly expanding environment. They will be entrusted to create new in-house test capability to dove-tail with existing test capability, in advance of major projects and new technology providers in the organisation’s 2020 pipeline and beyond.. The Test Manager will oversee the development of Test Approaches for new projects and work with Delivery Leadership and Project Managers to ensure testing is optimised and executed to a high level of quality.

The role will be located in the NDIA's office on Collins Street, Melbourne.

Key Duties & accountabilities

1.  Own the ICT organisation’s Test Strategy and standards, which involves expansion of the technology solution landscape with new Technology Providers
2.  Develop new in-house testing capabilities (inclusive of system integration, stress, performance and load testing and Accessibility testing) to compliment and integrate an existing UAT planning and support team, and other niche testing SMEs already in the organisation
3.  Manage the planning and execution of internal testing efforts to meet committed delivery dates
4.  Ensure material risks associated with the agreed test approach for a project are understood by key delivery stakeholders
5.  Ensure Test Plans proposed and executed by Projects teams and Implementation Partners align with the organisation’s test strategy
6.  Provide regular updates on work status, risks and issues in consultation with project managers
7.  Grow the pool of testing resources in consultation with Project Managers to meet demand
8.  Provide coaching and mentoring to the Testing team to promote their professional development and facilitate the achievement of quality test outcomes
9.  Industrialise testing best practises and standards, including tooling, documentation, metrics, reporting, and automation
10.  Provide authoritative advice and guidance to colleagues on any aspect of testing, including training for testers and other staff where appropriate.
