Tender Description
Warrnambool City Council is seeking submissions from suitably experienced and qualified civil contractors to undertake road and drainage construction works associated with the construction of the Wangoom Road – Aberline Road – Wiggs Lane intersection.
The Northern Edge Estate development has commenced on land south-west of the Wangoom Road – Aberline Road – Wiggs Lane intersection.
Moyne Shire Council proposes to construct and seal Wiggs Lane from Wangoom Road north to Spring Flat Road via a separate contract. Wiggs lane forms the boundary between Warrnambool City Council and Moyne Shire Council.
Because of the anticipated increased traffic flow as a result of the above, and to improve safety at the intersection, a redesign of the intersection has been undertaken and Council wishes to appoint a contractor for construction.
Council has also been successful in obtaining funding to construct and seal the shoulders of Wangoom Road from Aberline Road to Horne Road to improve safety for cyclists using the designated cycling training circuit along Wangoom Road.
This contract involves the reconstruction of the Wangoom Road/Aberline Road intersection and construction and sealing of the Wangoom Road shoulders from Aberline Road to Horne Road.
The extent of works are detailed in the drawings in Attachment B and include the following civil construction activities:
- Integrated site safety management, environmental management and quality assurance;
- Traffic management;
- Vegetation removal;
- Earthworks;
- Underground drainage construction;
- Installation of underground services;
- Road pavement construction;
- Bitumen sealing works and hotmix asphalt works;
- Concrete kerb & channel work;
- Table drains; and
- Revegetation works.
Installation of a street lighting scheme for the intersection is included as a Provisional Sum Item.
